Model : DL380 G6
OS : CentOS 5.5
운영 중 OS event log(/var/log/messages)에 아래와 유사 메시지가 반복적으로 발생
-----------------------------------------------------------
kernel: blocks= 585871964 block_size= 512
kernel: heads= 255, sectors= 32, cylinders= 71799
-----------------------------------------------------------
Running HP vendor supplied command 'hpacucli', frequently shows "blocks=XX, block_size=XX, heads=XX, sectors=XX, cylinders=XX" messages in logs.

Issue
•Whenever the command hpacucli is run, messages similar to the following are seen in /var/log/messages:
kernel: blocks= 286677120 block_size= 512
kernel: heads= 255, sectors= 32, cylinders= 35132
•These messages confuse some third party log monitoring tools, which falsely report hardware problems as result.
Environment
•Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.4 or 5.5
•HP hardware (cciss storage controller)
Resolution
The messages are harmless and have no impact on the system. They do not occur on RHEL 5.3 or earlier, nor with the 5.6 kernel.
If 3rd party monitoring software is in use and erroneously reports these as hardware events, then upgrading to RHEL 5.6 or later will prevent the messages from being output.
Action Plan
1. Upgrade kernel, match with RHEL 5.6 or higher
2. Upgrade HP hw fw/driver/tools
