SA B-series Controller는 P-Seriese 또는 H-Series와 달리 System Board 상에 내장되어 있는 SW-RAID 기술로, OS의 Driver에 따라 Array 가 영향을 많이 받는다.


Windows의 경우 대부분의 경우 이상이 없지만, Linux는 종종 Array의 Logical Volume이 보이지 않고, 구성 멤버 디스크가 개별적으로 보이게 된다. (결국 OS상의 Driver가 정상적으로 인식하지 못했다는 이야기)


Gen8/Gen9에서 설치를 위해 권장되는 방법은 BIOS에서 Virtual Install Disk(VID)를 활성화 하고 이를 이용해 설치하는 것이다.


1. SA B140i 활성화를 위해, BIOS Boot Options > Boot mode – UEFI 선택 (Legacy mode에서는 RAID 기능이 비활성화 됨)


2. BIOS System Options > USB Options > Virtual Install Disk – Enabled > SA B140i driver 설치를 위해 VID 활성화



3. OS Media로 부팅 시 초기 3초 안에 키를 입력하면 아래와 같이 Grub에 접근이 가능하다.



4. 'e'키를 눌러 편집한다. (2번 입력하면 kernel 라인을 편집할 수 있다)


5. 라인 뒤에 “blacklist=ahci dd” 추가



6. "sr0"는 물리 디스크 이고, "sda"가 VID 볼륨이다.






7. 하위 디렉토리 브라우징을 통해, 설치하고자 하는 OS 버전에 맞는 hpdsa driver 6uX 선택




8. hpdsa driver 로딩 후 별도 추가 Driver가 없다면 dd task 종료



9. Linux 설치 시작 (이 후 단계는 일반 Linux 설치와 동일)


참고, 설치 과정 중 디스크 정보(layout)에 대하여 확인하면,


dd task 수행 후에는 하나의 볼륨이 보인다.



그러나, RHEL inbox driver 사용 시 (dd task 미수행 시), Disk가 개별적으로 인식된다.

    SA B140i는 SW RAID 입니다. AHCI 구성 후 OS의 RAID 기능을 사용하는 것이 더 좋다고 판단됩니다.

SA P410i에 별도 Sub Board(Array Accelerator daughtercard)가 없는데, 아래 메시지를 출력하며 부팅이 되지 않을때, 이는 Cache DIMM이 문제가 발생되었음을 나타내는 것이다.

 

Symptom :  

 Slot 0  HP Smart Array P410i Controller
 1763-Array Accelerator daughtercard critical error; please replace.
       (Controller is disabled until this problem is resolved)

 

Action Plan.

SPI BD에 장착된 Cache DIMM의 용량 확인 후 해당 Cache Memory 모듈 교체

acucli 를 통해 특정 디스크의 Predictive Failure가 확인되는데, Disk 전면 LED에서 표시되지 않아 확인이 되지 않는 상태에서, Smart Array에 연결된 모든 디스크가 각각 RAID 0로 구성되어 있고, OS의 어떤 볼륨에 마운트되어 있는지 확인하고자 할 때, 물리 디스크와 OS 마운트된 볼륨을 매칭하는 방법
