Hemisphere mode
Xeon EX 프로세서에는, 하나의 프로세서에 두 개의 메모리 컨트롤러가 포함되어 있고, 각 메모리들은 메모리 컨트롤러에 각각 연결되게 된다.
이 때, 하나의 프로세서에 포함된 두 개의 메모리 컨트롤러에 연결된 메모리가 양 쪽이 동일하게 구성되는 경우 Hemisphere 모드가 활성화된다.
The Xeon EX architecture incorporates hemisphere mode, a high performance interleaving technology. Hemisphere mode allows interleaving between the two processor memory controllers internal to each processor.
Hemisphere mode is enabled when all processors in a system have the memory behind both memory controllers populated identically.

To enable each processor to enter hemisphere mode it must have both cartridges installed, populated with equal memory capacities and follow the DIMM installation guidelines.
