SmartArray/SA P440ar - RAID5 볼륨 Rapid Parity Initialization Test
Note. RPI(Rapid Parity Initialization)은 볼륨의 초기화가 끝나기 전까지는 해당 볼륨을 사용할 수 없음.
Note. 볼륨 초기화에 소요되는 시간 기록해두기위해

ML350 Gen9(Intel Xeon E5-2690 v3 x2p, 16GB Memory(8GB x 2qty), SA P440ar HBA, 1.2TB HDD x 6qty)

SA P440ar: 7.00
SSA 3.30.14.0 - Intelligent Provisioning v2.87 포함버전
볼륨 생성 작업은 Offline/IP로 부팅 한 후 진행함.
1. 기존 볼륨 삭제

2. 6개 1.2TB disk들을 통해 RAID5 볼륨 구성. 초기화 방법으로 RPI 선택 및 surface scan 을 high 로 설정.

Surface Scan 옵션은 Online에서는 영향을 줄 수 있으나, Offline 에서는 영향이 거의 없는 것으로 예상됨.
실제 초기화 시간은, 설정 여부와 관계 없이 2시간(1시간 40분) 정도에서 완료되는 것으로 판단됨.
Note. Test performed twice times and it completed in about 2 hr(1hr 40mins).
1. 1.2TB Disk x6 qty Installed
2. Controller: SA P440ar > Create Array
3. Select 1.2TB Disk x6 qty
4. Select RAID 5 / Default Stripe Size(256KiB) / RPI(Rapid Parity Initalization)
5. Summary - Finish
6. Controller:SA P440ar > Modify Controller Settings
Note. This will appeared after create Array volume.
Note. RPI progress can monitoring in right panel this screen. And it can refresh through <F5> function key.
7. Set Surface Scan to High (for expedite initialization time)

9. Array initialized about 2hr later without workload.
